Martin Barnard turned up today having been pointed in our direction by Geoff and immediately started helping to set up tables etc. We can’t have been doing too much wrong because Martin has now joined us and we welcome him in to our club. We set up the circuit today in order to run members’ bogie stock.

Many fine examples were seen running round the circuit together with appropriate locomotive power. There were examples of Southern, GWR, BR of different periods and last but not least SECR. All in all, this was a very colourful and interesting session on the circuit.

David G set up the Lenham boards and reviewed the now completed track work. David, Barry and David L then proceeded to deal with one or two minor issues on these boards which now await Paul W finalizing the wiring. Once
this has been done construction of the platforms and lineside buildings will take place alongside ballasting of the track and the installation of dummy point rodding.
Elsewhere Doug arrived with his van and took away Sarre which he had bought at the AGM at the weekend. This layout
has given us sterling service at exhibitions over the years but it is now time to ring the changes and move on to our next
project. Several interesting ideas and proposals were put forward during the morning with the result that your
correspondent had no time to work on the things he had brought along to do.

Hopefully by the end of the month we will be able to coalesce all these ideas into a workable layout plan that everybody can buy in to and crack on with building it.
Tim and David Ho together with others worked on the micro layout and proceeded to cut bits off it in order to reduce its height. The micro layout is really starting to come on but seems more micro now every time I see it.
Over lunch we talked briefly about our Open Day in July and the exhibitions later in the year. At the moment our intention is to run Edington and the micro layout at our Open Day as well as hopefully displaying the progress made on Lenham and the new layout to replace Sarre.

We will also have a demonstration table again this year as it was so well received last year. Finally, Barry K reported that he has updated our club entry on the Gauge O Guild website as discussed at the AGM.
Lastly but most importantly David Ho again kept us all supplied with teas and coffees.
