This became a very busy session. Edington Junction was erected, the plan being for those due to operate the layout later in the year would be able to familiarize themselves with its operation. Everything started well, but it became clear that some of the wiring had broken internally and failed, including the wiring from one of the transformers. Tracing the fault was not easy. Paul replaced some of the main wiring but there may be more to do. The layout has not enjoyed good health over lockdown. At the same time, Paul and Barry continued with the wring on Lenham (using robust wire!), the first and most complicated board nearing completion.
David Ho worked on Tim’s Folly (in between supplying tea and coffee) so the ‘cabinet’ is finished, and reduced in size in order to fit into most cars. David is keen for members to come forward and offer to take it to shows where EKOGG has a stand, particularly members who have not yet had much involvement in shows.
Tim and David L were deep in discussion about the details of Queen Charlotte’s Dock, deciding on siding and head shunt lengths. Roger by some form of magic produced a very fine girder bridge for the high-level track – a superb striking addition to the layout.
Because of all that needed to be done, I forgot to take any photos, while several members forgot to sign in and pay their dues (hopefully this will be put right next time!). Meanwhile, modelling progress continued around the table. David G
