Today our focus on the circuit was on Brake Vans which had been held over from our meeting on 15 November. Roger set up a train hauled by a D33 I think which trundled round the circuit with nearly 20 brake vans in their various guises.
David Gr reported on our successful participation in the Warley show where Edington made its final appearance. As previously reported Edington has now been sold and was delivered to its new owner on our way back from Birmingham.

Along with the layout we also sold the trestles and now need to replace them for Queen Charlotte Dock. In particular, we need trestles or some other arrangement to show Queen Charlotte Dock at the forthcoming Maidstone exhibition at the end of December. David Ho suggested using builders’ trestles as a stop gap and undertook to find out whether he had
any available for our use.

Unfortunately, there were problems today with the electricity supply in the hall resulting in very low lighting levels which made it difficult to do any modelling. This we later learned was thought to be due to a local area supply problem rather than a problem within the hall itself.

UK Power Networks are on to it and hopefully whatever the cause the problem will soon be resolved. Thankfully though we were still able to boil a kettle so as usual. David Ho kept us all supplied with teas and coffees until we packed everything away and headed off home. Chris
