Today’s focus on post 1960’s freight quickly melted away as it was decided there wasn’t enough people with trains to run to warrant getting the circuit out. Instead, we settled down to a very pleasant afternoon of modelling and chatting.

While we put the world to rights David Ha fettled away on a Ford rail bus he is building and John B continued his epic programme of coach building. Paul H brought in and worked on a GWR coaling station kit. The model is of the 1932 standard coaling station with a large water tank on top that was to be found all over the GWR and when finished will be a pretty impressive building.
David Ho brought in and passed around for those who hadn’t seen it the latest Gauge O Guild Gazette with Tim’s long awaited article on Mike Perry and his exceptional modelling career. Comment was made by those who went to the recent Chatham show on the shortcomings of the organisation of that event although to be fair to the Chatham club some of the problems were outside of their control being due to failures of the management of the dockyard.
Finally, David Ho having returned to us after a period of entertaining antipodean visitors kept the teas and coffees coming until we headed off home. Chris
