Today’s “Bring and Buy Sale” produced a very large and interesting selection of member’s locos, rolling stock, kits, and railway related books for sale. While some members picked over the items on offer Paul, Barry, David L, John P and others retrieved Saturday Edington from the store-room and set it up ready to run.

Roger probably won first prize for the most items on offer closely followed by Dave B representing our absentee vendor Geoff. David G, David Ha, John Minter (who had brought along Bob Fridd), John P and Ross were also well represented on the sales tables where the sounds of deals being done and the exchange of our English pounds were constantly heard.
After a little rustiness regarding what wire went where, Edington commenced operations and David G walked David L and others through the operating procedures ahead of that layout’s appearance at our Open Day in July and at exhibitions later in the year.
On a swelteringly hot day Tim served up teas, coffees and cold drinks and kept everybody hydrated while the temperatures outside continued to climb. As the afternoon drew to a close we returned Edington to the store-room and set off for home; some with less than they came with some with more. Chris
