We all sat enthralled while Fred expounded on the mysteries of weathering locos and other stock.
Fred’s advice was to know before you start what effect it is you want to achieve and to study photographic examples rather than try to make it up as you go along.

Fred brought along many of his own models that he had weathered and ran through the various techniques he had employed on them.

Fred showed us the various products that he uses on his models and explained how he applies them.

He explained how it was best to use only small quantities at a time working the paint and sometimes lifting it off in order to build
up to the desired result.
After questions Fred urged people not to be afraid of weathering their stock but to have a go.
After Fred’s talk Geoff held an auction of stock that had been donated to the club.

Most of the items were bought by members before David G saved me from temptation by buying two really excellent four wheel coaches.
Paul W and Barry K continued sticking down track plans on Lenham.
