Today’s focus on the circuit was on 0-6-0 engines and a goodly selection was soon seen running round. First on the track was Roger’s ex-SECR O1 hauling a coal train. Although I say hauling, it was double headed with an ex-SECR R1, so I’m not sure who was pulling and who was pushing.

During the morning David Gr ran his ex LSWR Adams 0395 0-6-0 tender loco and Fred ran his GWR pannier and some Jintys in various liveries, one of which he had heavily weathered, and also a 08 diesel 0-6-0.
A number of Terriers also appeared including John B’s “Fenchurch” and John D’s “Brighton Works” as did Tim’s PLA 0-6-0 tank in PLA blue livery that he had recently built to run on Queen Charlotte Dock. Several other locos also were seen from time to time but not being 0-6-0s they don’t get a mention.

On the big table, David Ha had brought along a brass kit for a Wantage tram and was busy cutting out and fettling the fret. Not to be outdone David Gr had a brass kit for a LSWR gate stock coach that he rather fancied and was busy cutting out and fettling that. Further along the table Steve was continuing to work on his Class 8F, Dave B was working on an
ex-LBSCR 4 wheel brake 3rd coach he had recently acquired at a show and Roger continued working on the line side building he is scratch building.
During the notices, David Gr reminded everybody to fill in and return their menu slips for the Christmas lunch. John D then reminded everybody that he would be doing the Christmas quiz this year. Actually, on that last point it might actually have been the other way round. Anyway, we look forward to the quiz with bated breath, so no pressure there, John.
With David Ho out of commission following eye surgery for cataracts, Tim once more in his capacity as First Deputy Chaiwallah kept us all provided with teas and coffees until close of play. Chris
