Focus on Sarre and SR including precursors and successors branch stock.

Having been exhibited at Bexhill on the previous Saturday in near tropical temperatures Sarre was set up to examine the issues that had arisen there. David Ho worked through them one by one while John P took control of the tea run. After inspecting them all David declared most of the issues had occurred as a result of the recent heat wave and where appropriate resolved those that needed intervention with the aid of his Birmingham screwdriver. Following his examination David ran through the various problems that had been experienced and explained the action necessary in each case if they should arise again. Running then resumed with the topic of the day , Southern branch stock. David L, our new/returning member brought along a Brighton wagon that he was building with the aid of his 3D printer. This super detailed model with sprung axle boxes is still in the course of development but shows what can be produced by this method. I feel a talk on 3D printing is a must for next year’s programme. Paul W and Barry K worked on aligning the connection of one of the Lenham boards to the circuit and later carried out some maintenance work to the circuit and one of the Edington fiddle yards. John D brought in a mixed bag of models he had acquired including a very strange tender locomotive with the chunkiest wheels known to man while the usual culprits sat around the big table and put the world to rights. Faversham MRC have now decided that they would like Sarre at their exhibition on the 10th and 11th of September and we will need to finalise the names of operators for this show as soon as possible.
